The Impact Investing Club, in collaboration with SEE PIC and B&G PIC, is hosting leaders from the Impact Investing field to educate and discuss the field. Topics have ranged from the overall landscape and financial practice of impact investing, to the tension and collaboration between private markets and government policy. We anticipate further events with alumni, a pension fund CIO, investors working in international development, and a forum to situate what Impact Investing means at HKS.

In February, we hosted a "fireside" chat with Fran Seegull, Executive Director of the US Impact Investing Alliance, where she laid out some of the advancements in US public policy around Impact Investing. Together we prodded the limits of both markets and government as the solution to societal ills, and the criticality of good public policy in the rush of private capital into the Opportunity Zones create by the recent tax law.
